I just spent about an hour writing a “Monday Memory” and when I clicked “publish” - it was lost. How did that happen? Is that something that happens very often with Wordpress?????? I didn’t click any wrong buttons or anything. It will be interesting to see if this message actually publishes. Crazy!
I am just thoroughly and wholeheartedly and furiously pissed about it!
Note: See! I spent about 30 second writing THIS post, and it worked perfectly. I did nothing different than what I did for the other one…and yet the other one is gone. Sigh! And it was such a GOOD Monday memory…. I don’t have the heart or time to write it again. Not now anyway

Oh No!!!! How upsetting!!!! Does Wordpress have a “recover post” button like Blogger does? Surely you can get it back.

This has happened to me occasionally in blogger, so I’ve learned to always click on “draft” to save it as I go along–at least if you lose a revision, it’s not like losing the whole wad. Also, for a real thinker like MM or TT, I start in word processing and then cut and paste. Saves a lot of grief.

Good idea! I wrote the post about Monday Memories again yesterday — and had to leave suddenly to handle another matter - and lost it again. Oh well…maybe next Monday I’ll get up the courage to try again.

Not necessarily a WordPress issue; probably a problem on the host side. Since I use Opera, the few times it’s happened to me, I just “back-gesture” and copy the post from the post/edit page into a plain text editor (just to be sure), then simply repost it. That way, the “lost” post isn’t really lost, although the couple of times I had a problem, it did take more than two attempts to post and have it “stick”.
I do the same thing with MT blog comments, since I’ve sometimes had them hiccough and drop a comment… back, copy comment I’d attempted to post, repost comment until it “sticks”.
I know it’s kind of a kludge, but it works nicely for me.
