Our country was founded on immigration, and through immigration our country has been enriched and blessed. We are truly the melting pot of the world. I applaud people who have the courage to leave oppressive and burdensome lives elsewhere to immigrate LEGALLY to America where there are more opportunities. I also applaud people who stay in their homeland and work to obtain the freedoms and opportunities for their own country that are available here.
The line has formed to get into America, and illegal immigrants have snuck in under the fence to keep from paying for their ticket. Illegal immigration is a slap in the face to all the millions of people who have entered America legally since the union was first formed. LEGAL immigrants have given their time, effort and resources to follow the law and become Americans. Illegal immigrants, for the most part, aren’t interested in becoming Americans. Instead, they want our culture to change and adapt to their culture.
I hope we don’t give in to all the rallies and protests and speeches. No one from another country DESERVES to be here until they follow the same procedures that the immigrants before them followed. America was founded on equality - not on making accommodations for special interest groups.

Appeasement, Appeasement, Appeasement…
The announcement of the compromise regarding illegal immigration reform is no less than appeasement. If todayÂ’s show were not political spin then Bill O’Reilly would be out of a job. Both parties yielded to the interest of the illegal immigrants; not…

I am amused at how we hear the illegal immigrant’s referred to as guest workers. Hog wash, let me prove it. Suppose someone scaled the fence of the Barbra Streisand palace, and proceeded to sneak into her house through a back door, then raided her icebox and sat down to eat at her table. Next, suppose the intruder started washing the dishes he had used. At this time Barbra comes into the kitchen. I am sure she would enjoy letting the ‘guest worker’ stay, eat her food, take her medicine and invite all of his family to come live in her house until she could adopt him as a son.
It is a complex problem, but nothing like other national problems that we have solved in the past.
But let me be frank, on a small scale I think I know how a battered wife feels, after she has been violated again. I keep being beaten down by the Republicans, George Bush included, but I keep going back to the Republican Party. I am not making light the terrible abuse some women go through time and time again, but today I feel like a battered voter.
They are not listening again, and they expect me to hold my nose and vote for Senator McCain in 2008. That will never happen, but I will be voting, and it surely won’t be for Hillary.
