The weather in Tennessee is wild today!  We got out of school a little early to try to get ahead of the line of storms headed our way.  I ALMOST got home before getting in the middle of an awful hailstorm.  I made it home, though - no damage to my car that I can see.  It’s been storming ever since with more lines of storms on the way.  The news is that this series of storms will probably last well into the night.  And I was looking forward to a good night’s sleep. Sigh!

In the first photo below, there’s a golfball on the top left - just to give you an idea of the size of the hail that fell right outside my house awhile ago.

This rainbow photo was taken from my front porch around 5:25 p.m. CDT.  The rainbow appeared LESS than five minutes after the hailstorm that produced the hail in these photos.  Then it lasted only a few minutes, followed by more rain and thunder and lightning.  In the photo, the sky is cloudy and gray, although the gray looks blue.  There was a small break in the clouds off to the right of the picture that briefly allowed enough sunlight through to form the rainbow.

wow! that’s impressive. The storm just missed us - apparently. They’ve been telling us we were going to get some of it today - but it just stayed humid all day.

    Beautiful rainbow!
