The good major and others work in the heat in the summer and the cold of the winter, wearing protective vests, doing manual labor to help the Iraqi's. The major knows if the kids run off, they will be under attack. A great early warning system. Of course, some of the bad guys care less about killing kids. The lucky ones end their duty days/nights in a trailer with heat and a/c. They get a shower every week. Hell, yes, I support our troops. The temp in Bagdad the other day was 120. Just a few weeks ago I saw a 60 Minutes segment where they spent 20 minutes detailing all the good acts that were being done by US troops in Iraq. I'm sure if they'd bothered to teach more US soldiers Arabic, things would have been easier... For pictures you really wouldn't see on TV though (the BBC do regular feel-good features of this kind), have a look at Al-Jazeerah, Al-Arabiyah or one of the other Middle East Arabic channels.
