Thirteen Reasons I Love My Computer

1. Email - such an easy way to keep in touch with friends, family, business associates

2. Blogging - great for venting and sharing. .  . well, and sometimes to just ramble

3. Reading the latest news

4. Looking for directions on MapQuest

5. Online resources such as a dictionary, encyclopedia - so much faster than looking things up in a book

6. Weather information - perfect for planning activities

7. Playing “Tripeaks” occasionally - mindless entertainment, but nice every once in awhile

8. Reading other blogs - I always find such interesting and thought-provoking things in other blogs!

9. Playing Battle of the Blogs at BlogExplosion - I lose a lot, but I keep plugging away

10. Shopping - I probably do at least 75% of my shopping online

11. Banking - Paying bills, switching money around from one account to another

12. Checking stock quotes - very up-to-the-minute information

13. Word Processing - I use that almost every day - especially during the school year

Yes, I love computers too! Blogging is so much fun. And reading other blogs is very addicting. Then of course there’s all the wealth of information available. I could get lost for hours on the Internet sometimes. And email is a huge blessing since my family is spread out all over the world.

  2. Ocean Lady Says:

I shop mostly online too; I dread going to the mall sometimes. And I love paying the bills online; it saves soo much time! And most of everything on your list. I haven’t checked out BlogExplosion yet and stock updates. )

I was just telling my husband last night that the baby we’re expecting won’t have a clue what some things are like typewriters and cassette tapes and LP’s. It blows my mind to think how technologically advanced we are.

I love - absolutely love - paying my bills on line. Yippee!

    My TT is up too!

  6. Laci Says:

When I moved, I went more than two years without a computer with internet at home. I didn’t miss it at the time, but once I got a new laptop and high speed internet, I wondered how I lived without it for so long! )

    Happy Thursday!

  7. Norma Says:

Although I’m a librarian I use mine like a library–looking up every imaginable question from TV’s old shows to tomorrow’s recipes.

Thanks for stopping by my TT on cars.

  8. Jenn Says:

OK dum here but what is Tripeak, I have NEVER heard of it!?

As for the rest of the list, I am with ya, Mapquest is a lifesavor as is e-mail! D

  9. carol Says:

Tripeaks is a VERY old game of solitaire played on the computer. I’ve been playing for years. I’m sure there are much fancier versions out there, but if I want to play solitaire, I always go for Tripeaks.

Those are EXACTLY the reasons I love my computer. I’m glad to hear someone else shops online - I can’t tell you the last time I’ve stepped foot inside a regular store. lol

I’m embarrassed to admit this? But I think I would plunge into a deep dark depression if something were to happen to my computer. Of course, now that I’ve said that … *grin*

    My list is up.

  11. Margie Mix Says:

I’ll have to check out “battle of the blogs” at Blogexplosion. What would we do without our computers! I don’t think I’ve watched TV in over a year. (besides a rented movie now and again.) Great TT. -Margie

I’ve been trying to remember how I ever got along without a computer. How did I keep up with family? How did I share family photos? How did I pay bills? And shop? It’s amazing how far we’ve come.

I love my computer. I honestly wonder at times how people lived without them. I would rather give up my car.
