I just got home from a quick trip to take dinner to some friends from church. On the way home, we stopped by an antique store. We parked the car, and three dogs from the yard next door came running over. One went directly to my car, hiked up his leg and peed on my tire. Now what did I ever do to him? My beautiful convertible! No respect at all!

WoW. What did you cook to take to “friends from church”? I went to a luncheon today and was “bragging to a close friend” about the THREE wonderful meals you cooked for the family while visiting last week end. You know I do not talk about my children often (do more listening) but we were talking about recipes…and I mentioned the new corn recipe you used…and what a fantastic cook you are…

Ruth - the meal was for a couple who had spent the day at the doctor’s office. The husband has had several physical ailments lately. They’re really nice people. I made chicken pot pie, corn salad, fresh fruit salad, individual peach pies (like fried pies, but not fried), and rolls. We’re have the exact menu for our dinner tonight. And thanks for your compliments. You know I enjoy cooking.
