1. Christmas Eve candlelight service at church.
2. Singing Christmas carols in church with piano accompaniment. Christmas carols are some of the most beautiful music ever!
3. Decorating the Christmas tree with our special ornaments. Almost every single ornament has some special significance to me.
4. Sending and receiving Christmas cards - although I have to admit I don’t send cards every year and most certainly won’t send them this year.
5. Decorating the house - I love Christmas decorations.
6. Drawing names on my side of the family - We have over 50 members in my family. So drawing names is the only sensible ways to handle gift-giving.
7. Buying gifts for my family. I love trying to pick out just the right thing for each person.
8. When I was a child - a small bottle of Welch’s grape juice in my stocking each Christmas. They don’t make those little bottles anymore, though.
9. Driving around a couple nights before Christmas and looking at all the decorations.
10. Buying gifts for family and some “angels”.
11. Christmas dinner - turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato souffle, pecan pie.
12. Sitting in front of a warm fire with R.T.
13. Advent Wreath & Devotions.

This is MUCH more positive than my list
It brings back wonderful memories!
Carol: I LOVED reading your T13. I know that daughter of yours must have been hilarious at times in her interviews!

I’ll take numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,…mmmm….oh 6 (didn’t do that until I married into my wife’s much larger family), 7, 9 (has to be done in your pj’s - we just did it tonight, the 12 year old almost fell asleep while the 1 year old was out before we were out of the garage!), 10, my favorite - 11 (gotta love that turkey), and 13. Can’t take 8, (though we always had tangerines and mixed nuts in our stockings) or 12 - I’ll be sitting with Darling Wife!
Sounds like a wonderful Christmas season!
Carol: Thanks for stopping by, Eric. I enjoyed your T13 list, too. I like all the Narnia books - and I have a couple on running, too - although I haven’t done any running in years.

What a wonderful list. I can’t say I enjoy all of the Christmas hullabaloo as much as I used to. I am happy to see other people’s decorations, listen to the great music, and watch children open presents.
I was too overwhelmed to write a creative and thoughtful TT this week and just posted(without further polishing)one I drafted back in MAY!
Carol: I enjoyed your “wordy” T13! Thanks for stopping by!

What a wonderful list. We have just put up our tree and it is very handsome.
Number 10 is my favourite - I must admit that I love getting presents, but its much more special going out and buying them. Then seeing the reaction when they are opened.
Happy Thursday.
Carol: Hi Louise! Thanks for visiting. I enjoyed your list of books on your T13, although I hadn’t even heard of most of them!

Aren’t traditions awesome? I just love Christmas traditions.
Happy TT!
I’m up!
Carol: Hi Mikala - thanks for stopping by my T13. I will look at your T13 when I get home from work this afternoon. Thanks!

Driving around looking at lights is part of our Christmas Eve tradition. We put a Christmas CD on and drive around. We always start out singing along, laughing, and talking, but by the time we’re through, everyone’s peaceful and relaxed and just enjoying the music and the lights.
Carol: Darla, that’s a wonderful tradition. There IS something peaceful about Christmas and most of the home decorations. Thanks for visiting my T13.

Wonderful list.
Those are great holiday traditions. The Candlelit Christmas Eve service sounds wonderful. I enjoy going to Mass throughout Advent, and lighting the Advent wreath, as well as attending Mass on Christmas Eve.
Happy T13.
Carol: I’ve never attended Mass since I’m not Catholic. However, it sounds very meaningful. Thanks for stopping by.

Carol, your list brought a smile to my face and warmed my heart. I love Christmas carols too. I guess it is because they are full of hope.
My T13 is up….13 of my favorite angels.
Carol: I’ll be over to look at your T13 this afternoon after work! I love your angels - I hope you have photos! Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas traditions are like a warm place we can go to every year, no matter how crazy our lives really are. I love them too. Buying angel tree gifts is such a humbling experience.
Carol: Wow, John! You expressed that so well. “a warm place we can go to every year” - just perfect! Thanks for sharing.

Liked these! You’ve got some good ones. Strangely, I got the welch’s bottles in my stocking too, and I miss them.
Please feel free to link this post (and any other Christmas posts) to the Christmas Alliance website, I’ll hardlink it in and people will be able to find it all year. The page is reachable through the Random Yak website.
Carol: Thank, Random Yak. I can’t believe you got the Welch’s grape suice bottles, too. They came in packs of three little bottles. Sure wish they’d bring them back! I’ll link this as soon as I can. THANKS!

Thursday 13: Christmas Quiz…
With two weeks left before Christmas, it seemed an appropriate time to offer up a Thursday 13 Christmas Quiz, featuring random facts (some might say trivia) about Christmas. Answer in the comments, and I’ll provide answers to unanswered questio…

have a Blessed Day. Thanks
Carol: Hi Patty - thanks for stopping by!

I love Christmas decorations too. Though my favorite is the lights, multi-colored, blinking lights.
Carol: Since I wrote this T13, I’ve thought of several things I WISH I had put on it - like the Christmas tree lights. I don’t like the blinking ones, though. However, I do have to have multi-colored lights. And then I forgot to put “watching IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE”. So many traditions! Thanks for stopping, by N. Mallory and reminding me of the lights!
