I was only 1 for 4 last week.  So let’s see if I can do better this week.  Here are my predictions for who’s going home tonight on American Idol.

Guys:  Sanjaya Malakar has GOT to go.  He seems sweet and nice, but his voice is too weak, and he doesn’t do a good job of selecting songs that are appropriate for his voice.   Brandon Rogers is my other pick.  He’s got a nice voice, but he isn’t strong or unique.  I WISH Blake would go home, but I think he’ll be around for awhile.

Girls:  Antonella Barba needs to go.  Her song last night was almost pitiful — almost discordant.  I don’t know if her notoriety will keep her around another week or two – or not.  Haley Scarnato will probably be the other girl to go.  The judges really raked her over the coals last night.  I like her, but she’s not in the same league as some of the other singers.

As I’ve already commented somewhere today, it’s been a pretty lackluster show this season thus far.

However, Melinda is the only standout in my mind.

TMS: And Melinda’s a Tennessee girl! Yea! I like Lakisha, too – and a couple other girls whose names I can’t think of right now. And Chris Sligh.

TMS, I thought I’d come back and see how close we were on guesses again this week.

    Here are mine:
Guys: Sanjaya and Phil. Although I really agree that Blake needs to go, I think he’s got a niche following.
Girls: Haley and Sabrina. Antonella definitely deserves to leave but she’s got such a fanbase now from those pics that will float her for another few weeks.

You might have been 1/4 last week, but I was 0/4. Let’s hope we both did better!

More on my predictions: [feel free to edit out if that’s not cool to link]

TMS: The link is fine. It’ll make it easier for me to get to your blog. So you think Phil will go home. Isn’t he the bald guy? I don’t think he’ll go yet. And I really like Sabrina. I think she’ll be okay for another week or two. I expect to be surprised by who is sent home, though.

I am in total agreement. Antonella and Haley were, by far, the worst last night. Sanjaya is young and needs to work on his voice. He can come back later.
    We will know soon!

Oh yeah, Antonella was definitely the worst, but she’s got so much attention that she’s not going anywhere tonight.
