I'm not a huge fan of fiction, but I too really enjoy Michener's Hawaii--must have read it well over 30 years ago but it has stayed with me.

As will Fondue. I saw a recipe this week in our local paper--1,329 mg sodium, and 735 calories. Not sure of the serving size.

Wonderful feast. You know, I don't think I have EVER eaten at The Melting Pot. It sounds great though.
Thanks for stopping by for a little nibble at my table!

What sort of food do they serve at The Melting Pot?

TMS: The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant. Cheese fondue, bouillion fondue for meat and vegetables, and then chocolate fondue for dessert. It's pricey - but it is SOOOO good. It takes about 2 hours for a meal. But the atmosphere, and the fact that you're cooking the food yourself is wonderful. They mix the cheese fondue at the table - same for the chocolate. They have all kinds of sauces to go with the meat and vegetables for the main course fondue. I haven't been to The Melting Pot in a couple years - but it is still my favorite place to eat out.
