I’ve been reading up a bit on Fred Thompson because I keep hearing people are hoping he’ll run for president. I have always liked him, but frankly didn’t know much about his politics or character. I’ve been finding a few tidbits…

Bravo for Fred Thompson!!

Uisce - the concern is that Congress has done that before and so people are concerned they will do it again. They have certainly threatened to and some have actively advocated for it. However, it seems that after all the dramatics, when it came down to the vote, they couldn’t vote in the first resolution against the war. When push came to shove they knew that would bring the ire of the country on their heads.

Hopefully, they’ll remember that.

I don’t believe in pacifism for the sake of pacifism any more than I believe in war for the sake of war. But I wonder where Gandhi stands on honesty and integrity.

And in response to a previous commenter, there is nobody who would cut funding and leave our troops “stranded”. To say that there are people out there who want that is, in my opinion, factually incorrect.

I guess I should not be amazed that there are people out there who want us to just give up in Iraq, just cut off all funds and leave our troups stranded. I guess I should not be amazed but I am.

I wish Fred Thompson would run for President. I thing he would be a wonderful candidate and a wonderful President.
