We would take so much time into trying to figure this out why he said what he did. He is like that he says what is on his mind. What happened to freedom of speech? In today’s society when we are in a group of African Americans we are scared ourselves, of what we can say and what we cant without offending them. I know that African Americans have special nicknames that they use for each other and they can call each other hos, and say your hair is looking nappy. But can we say that to them? Do we have special language that only white people can use with each other, and if the African Americans use this language they will get fired? NO, we don’t. Why do African Americans feel that they must always prove a point just because they are African Americans??? Why should they be treated differently just because they have different color skin??? Why cant we just see that everybody has the same skin color, why do we have to be black, white, yellow???Whatever.. Do you think god sees a different color?? Who cares if we have straight, curly or nappy hair?? How important is it??? When we have all kinds of colors getting killed over in IRAQ!!! I think this is ridiculous, and very stupid. Imus should not be fired!

My impression is that they enjoy these opportunities to promote themselves. Apparently this guy, Imus, whom I have never seen, was hired to be outrageous and politically incorrect on the air. From what I have read, it is what he DOES. Yes, programs such as this are offensive and demeaning, but what they say is protected by freedom of speech in this country. Thankfully we also have freedom of hearing too. If folks didn't listen to their drivel, they would be out of jobs. But, I think they use it for emphasis rather than being nasty - but I hate it. Kids can be awful, at times. My granddaughter got called a 'Les' (lesbian) by an opposing soccer team player because she wouldn't let the girl get a shot on a ball. She stayed with her constantly. As for Imus, one time to hear him is too much for me. I don't care whether he's fired or not - but he should change his speech pattern.
