Once again, I offer my prediction for who will go home on American Idol tonight. 

The least talented singers who are left are Sanjaya, Phil, Chris, and Blake. Everyone seemed to like Phil’s singing last night.  So I think he may have saved himself for one more week.  

Sanjaya is Sanjaya - and millions of fans (or fans of the “worst”) have taken him under their wings.  Those legions of fans who will keep him in it a little longer.  Simon just solidifies their devotion to Sanjaya each time he calls him “horrendous.”  And Randy was exactly right when it said the performance was “karaoke.” 

And for some strange reason people seem to enjoy fish-face Blake’s singing.  I can’t keep a straight face when I watch him sing.  He looks just like a fish gasping for air…or water - or whatever fish gasp for.  I honestly do not understand why people like his singing.  It is so bland.  No personality whatsoever.

So that leaves Chris.  So my prediction for who will be sent home tonight is Chris Richardson.  His voice was especially nasal-y last night.  Not much personality came through, and he didn’t make the song believable at all.  My bet is on Chris.

Jordin was amazing.  I love that song!  Lakisha YELLED her song.  I was relieved when it was over.  As a matter of fact, it crossed my mind that she butchered the song so much she might have convinced her fans she wasn’t worth a phone call of support.  I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if she went home tonight - but I rather doubt it. 

Melinda was outstanding.  She just doesn’t have a superstar “look” but maybe she’s so good she doesn’t need that.  I’m glad Simon told her not to do her “Who? Me?  You really like me?” surprised look because when she just smiled and accepted the praise, it was so much more believable.  The innocents, can’t-believe-this reaction was getting quite old.

Bye-bye Chris!
