What sad news. There was a man in our church when I was growing up who committed suicide. He had been very ill and in a lot of pain. I will never forget mother telling me of her concern for his soul. But she said when she walked out of the church after his funeral there was a beautiful light snow falling. God spoke clearly to her and said, "Bill is with me." That made quite an impression on me.

I find absolutely nothing wrong with what Horace did. God bless him, and HE will, a man should be able to die with his dignity still intact!

I hope to go out before I forget the combination to my gun safe.

TMS: I agree with you, Mushy. There's nothing wrong with what he did. I truly believe I would do the same thing if I were in the same position.

Carol, I am so sorry to hear about Horace. It is indeed "sad news". Life is indeed short at best. Tell Betty i will pray and have my prayer group to pray for her and her family. I think Horace was not thinking clearly because of the stroke. He is not his Daddy and likely would not have experienced the same kind of disability. To kill oneself is usually a permanant solution to a temporary problem! How sad and painful for him and especially for Betty, his family and his church friends.
Thank you and Ron for caring and standing with them.
