I was at Sonic the other day and saw that they had a new item on their menu: Macaroni and Cheese balls. The photo looked like a ball of macaroni and cheese that had been rolled in crumbs and deep-fried. Ugh - I didn’t feel like dragging around all day from all the fat. So I didn’t order this. This morning I was looking at Paula Deen’s cooking magazine, and lo and behold, there was a recipe for Macaroni and Cheese balls - deep fat fried macaroni and cheese balls.
So who came up with this idea? I can just imagine the rationale. There’s not enough fat and calories in macaroni and cheese. Let’s form it into balls, roll the balls in seasoned crumbs and then deep fat fry them. Wow! What an idea! Let’s take a really high calorie and high fat food and see how we can make it even higher calorie and higher fat. Fried macaroni and cheese. That’s just crazy!

It’s amazing the stuff people will fry: twinkies, oreos, and snickers bars at the fair. I’ve seen fried Mac and cheese at one of our local dive diners. It sounds awful to me. I mean I LOVE baked mac and cheese…and that’s bad enough!!
I keep hoping Paula Deen will “lighten up” her cooking…but to no avail.

Honestly - some of the foods you enjoy are probably just as disgusting in the eyes of others. They’re actually very delicious, and can be made with less fat and calories. Fries twinkies and snickers are a little on the crazy side, I will admit…but never criticize people for what they enjoy - especially if a fast food corporation is making millions of dollars from the sales. If you’ve never actually tried it - keep your mouth shut. Or maybe consider trying it.
TMS: I won’t keep my mouth shut or my typing fingers still. I expressed my opinion. You expressed yours. We’re even…no, wait. I merely gave my opinion about a type of food, but you were rude to me specifically. Guess we’re not even after all.

Its actually very very good. Simply because something is high in calories and fat doesn’t mean you CANNOT EVER eat it. C’mon people. Anything in moderation is ok, especially if you work out. So, lets not judge people for what they eat. Its their business.
