One of my favorite alltime books is The Stand by Steven King. I still read parts of it occasionally - especially the beginning. Stephen King really knows how to set the stage for a story. There aren’t many adult books that I enjoy reading a second, third or more times, but The Stand is certainly one of them. Now Stephen King has a new book out - The Mist.
The Mist by Stephen King will be in theaters on November 21st. I looked up The Mist website and it looks really cool. “Stephen King cool” which means there was some awesome music along with a trailer for the movie. It sounds like a perfect movie for a weekend date on a cold November or December weekend.
I love the tag line for the movie: “A routine trip to the supermarket turns into a battle against unholy destruction.” That reminds me of how The Stand begins - just a group of guys hanging out by a gas station way out in the country. The basic storyline of The Mist is that a mist enters the town, and there is something deadly in the midst. People are trapped in the supermarket - knowing that going out into the mist would be suicide. With that knowledge, the veneer of civilized behavior begins to wear off. I’ve heard it said that a person’s real nature comes out during adversity, and The Mist is a great depiction of the diversity of human nature.

I am a new member of Stephen King fan club. I have just recently watched all four parts of The Stand by Stephen King and in Part 2 (now on DEMAND/comcast), where Molly Ringwald plays a record, I recall the music from the past. Can you please tell me what the name of the group is who did this music - I JUST CAN’T REMEMBER!!! Some of the lyrics are hey now hey now, don’t dream it’s over or the dream’s not over?? I wish I could make out more of the lyrics. Anyhow, any info you can respond with would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much!!
