It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why Dr. Phil ended up at the hospital to talk with Brittney Spears this past weekend. If he had been there in order to truly help her, we wouldn’t have known he was there, or he would have downplayed the visit. But he didn’t do that. The fact that he has already announced that he will discuss his visit with her ON HIS SHOW next week tells us his purpose immediately. Dr. Phil saw an opportunity to boost his ratings by exploiting this young woman in trouble. It doesn’t matter to him that Brittney is obviously a young woman with serious problems - one of the problems being the invasion of her privacy by the media. I think it’s shameful, and as far as I’m concerned, Dr. Phil just lost all credibility. He’s just another self-absorbed Hollywood type.
I feel sorry for Brittney. Yes, she has brought this all on herself. However, she is young, and she is likely dealing with some depression after the end of her marriage and having two children back to back. I’m sure she also feels a lot of betrayal from the people she thought were loyal to her who have sold her out what they could get out of it. She also has the media in her fact all the time. I’m sure if they could put cameras in her bathroom, they would.
I’m sure the fact that I think he’s slime won’t bother Dr. Phil one bit. I hope that this incident will show others (and Brittney) that his attention to her situation isn’t about her - but it’s all about him and publicity for him.

I have always respected Dr.Phil’s opinion,However I absolutely agree with you that he has “gone Hollyweird” I haven’t seen his show in a long while because it turned into all tease and commercials. I also agree about Brittney. This girl has some serious problems and helping her solve them should not be a matter of “what can I get out of it”…as you say it perpetuates her problems.I for one would like to see her go somewhere out of the media feeding frenzy and get some help before she completely looses her children for good. You just have to wonder what some of these young women are thinking. Liz Taylor doesn’t look so wild after all.

oh man, I do know what you mean. He is filth scum for doing this; shame on him!! Oh but that’s right….he IS a Oprah spin off isn’t he?! Sorry if you like Oprah. This really does infuriate me. I do hope Spears gets the REAL help she needs. What a mess.
TMS: We lived in Chicago when Oprah was first getting started. At that time she had a local talk show - and I enjoyed it. Then she became syndicated…and it went on from there. I haven’t much cared for her in a long time - and definitely since she started campaigning for Obama.

Britney is the young female version of Elvis. I mean think about it, not only is she “depressed” from the end of her marriage and all that hooplah, but my GOD man, can you imagine what her life must be like - famous and lots of money. The girl couldn’t even go to the bathroom without the papparazi. And think about it…after doing show after show after show with all the adoring fans cheering you on and then you go home. How does one come down off of that high? Plus, she never had any kind of normal life to begin with, from an early age. I know there are lots of famous people out there who have gone thru the same thing and have ended up OK but then again there are lots who haven’t and Britney has, unfortunately, fallen under this last category and, what, with today’s level of media frenzy…sheesh.

When I heard that Dr. Phil had gone to see Brittney Spears yesterday, I was elated that she was finally going to get some badly needed help. Little did I know that it was just a publicity stunt for his upcoming show about Brittney. Yes, Dr. Phil has lost his credibility with me and, apparently, a lot of other people. Brittney, I wish you would go to see someone you trust. We would all love to see you back on track again. You are a beautiful and talented young girl and you are young enough to get past all of this. Take care of yourself. Please!

First and formost I am so sick of her BS…Is anyone else out there disgusted, and sick to there stomachs over Brittney? Yea, I was one of those people too a while back who felt sorry for her, but you know what? Enough is enough now! Seriously, this girl is unstable, she has proved that time and time again, she acts like a fool out in public, she displays irratic, irrational destructable behavior on her part and on her childrens’ part, and she seems like shes in desperate need of some type of pyschiatric medication/treatment. Who the hell knows tho because she has REFUSED to get treatment time and time again! I mean, what does it have to take for you to pick yourself up and take yourself to a doc to do an evaluation on you to find out whats wrong with you? Why she doesnt want to find out what is wrong with her is beyond my understanding..And then I’m supposed to feel sorry for her about what she’s going thru? Get outta here..Im a mother of a 2 yr old little girl & thank God everyday that he gave me that child. She really makes me angry how she took having those 2 kids for granted. And for those who blame the “media” for playing her “problems” up, give me a break with that too..Brittney has a love/hate relationship w/ the papparzi. 1 minute shes screaming and yelling at them, then the next she’s inviting them into a rest stop bathroom with her, or inviting them to come along with her on some stupid endeavor…She so desperately needs help .She is so sad and pathetic, and frankly Im so disgusted at her actions, and with people feeling sorry for her…Feel sorry for those boys, and the fact that they have a mother who is in DENIAL, thats right people “denial”, and will not get the proper help that she needs…Pathetic…And as far as Kevin Federline goes, ok so he probably isnt parent of the year either,but guess what? Simply put, Kevin might be a slimy worm, however he is smart enough to keep himself OUT of the public eye, and doesnt/hasnt let himself get caught on camera “yet”, making a total retard out of himself the way Britteny does. If she was REALLY and TRULY so distraught over the camera being all up in her face, then she’d give the “going out” every single night a rest once in a while, curl up on the couch & watch movies or something. I’m not saying she should stop her life, but there’s no need to run about town every night all night. Give me a break…Pathetic..

For once, you television people need to remember you are human..give some darn compassion and empathy when and where it is due..trust me Britney needs compassion from her fellow man!!!!
