I’m excited. Tonight is the season finale for “The Amazing Race.” I’m cheering for Nick and Don. I love the idea of a grandfather being part of the winning team. Nick has been the most considerate grandson - carrying Don’s backpack when Don was exhausted - one backpack on his front, and one on his back. They gotten along well and haven’t resorted to name-calling and being hateful to each other or to the other contestants. So many other contestants have spent a good part of the race bickering with each other. The stress of the race seems to bring out the worst in some people.

My second favorite team is Ron and Christina. I don’t particularly like the way they relate to each other, but again, I’m cheering for the older contestants. Both Ron and Christina patronize each other. Ron tries to be a dictator, and Christina treats him like he’s not very bright. Overall, though, I think they’ve both grown up during the race, and they’re not as annoying as they were at first.
I think it’s great that two of the three final teams have members who are older. So far the only folks who have won “The Amazing Race” have been fairly young. Their wins have been wonderful for them, I’m sure, but nothing unusual. To have a grandfather and grandson win - or a father and daughter win would be a refreshing change.

I’m sorry, but I can’t cheer for T.K. and Rachel . They are just the typical Amazing Race contestants. Young, perky - B-O-R-I-N-G. Nothing unusual and particularly noteworthy about them. It’s not that I dislike them - although I think TK’s hair looks nasty and Rachel looks like she’s about 10 years old. She looks older in the picture above than she has the whole race. It’s just that they’re so blah.
So, here’s to cheering on Nick and Don tonight!
Later note: Alas, it was not meant to be. The only team I didn’t want to win, won. Sigh! TK and Rachel - the most ho-hum contestants ever - won the race. Ron and Christina were second, and Don and Nick were last. Maybe next season we’ll have some exciting winners.
