Poor Barack Hussein Obama (I love to include his middle name - just to drive liberals crazy).  I was just listening to CNN, and it seems that Barack is getting it from both sides.  He buddies up with a racist pastor for twenty years and has nothing but high praise for this pastor who he calls his mentor, but then the pastor’s sermons are broadcast outside the church and there is an uproar at the blatant racist and anti-American sentiments that the pastor spews from the pulpit to the obvious delight and agreement of the congregation.  So Barack denounces somewhat belatedly what the pastor said and gave the excuse that he wasn’t in attendance during those particular sermons, and my goodness, he had no idea the pastor felt that way.

Now it appears that he’s getting some flack from others in the “black community” saying that he shouldn’t have denounced the not-so-reverend Wright’s words because these particular folks in the black community feel that Wright’s views are mainstream and represent the views of most blacks.  Really?

Is it really a mainstream belief among African Americans that the United States government created the AIDS virus in order to kill off blacks? Is it really the view of most African Americans that the U.S. is responsible for 9-11? Do the not-so-reverend’s followers truly believe that the U.S. government is made up of “rich white men” whose sole goal in life is to keep blacks “in their place” and to deny them their basic rights and privileges? Does the not-so-reverend’s flock truly believe that blacks should sing “God damn America” instead of “God bless America.”

Interesting, isn’t it?  I guess many of us believed Dr. Martin Luther King and felt that we had “overcome” the worst of those hateful stereotypes.  We believed that, while there were a few racists on all sides, the vast majority of Americans - of all colors and creeds - had moved beyond the racial hatred.  According to the not-so-reverend Wright,  however, racial hatred is alive and thriving and encouraged - in the black community at least.  And the darling of the Democratic party, Barack Obama, has been a strong supporter of this racist “pastor” for twenty years.  Even the church’s website is racist.  I studied it for quite awhile the other evening.  Everything is about the “black” experience.  No doubt the church does a lot of good, and their outreach program is extensive.  However, it is exclusionist and racist.  And that’s about as un-Biblical as you can get.

The whole “God damn America” is irrational.  The not-so-reverend Wright and Barack Obama and the members of Trinity United Church of Christ are all part of America - and yet they believe God should damn America - and thus they are asking God to damn themselves as well.  Barack’s ability to serve as president should be immediately brought into question by his support of this racist pastor (and I use the term “pastor” loosely) of marginal intelligence.

If the un-reverend Wright’s beliefs are mainstream for our country’s African-Americans, our country is in deep trouble.
