This evening I sat down and read the speech that Barack Obama gave a few days ago.  I’d read exerpts before - quite a few exerpts - but I hadn’t read it from beginning to end.  Now I have.  Word for word.  BHO is a very good speaker, but we already knew that.  I’d really like to like him.  People are getting positively orgasmic talking about what a statesman he is.  I would really like to like him.  However,  I read the speech critically, which means that I read all the feel-good rhetoric without getting so caught up in it that I didn’t pay attention to what he was really saying.  And it was difficult to be critical because he certainly has a way with words.  However, there’s no way around that he is not simply a liberal - he is about as far left as a person can be.  He hit all the liberal key words and basically tried to make it sound lofty that he would continue to support Jeremiah Wright.  I was hoping for substance, but all I read were some really pretty words.
