The Biggest Loser is one of my favorite shows.  Except for Mark who cries all the time.  When he called his wife from Australia during tonight’s show, he started crying again, and she asked, “Are you crying again?”  Well, yes, he definitely was.  The more appropriate question might have been, “Has there been a time you haven’t cried?”   RT makes fun of the show because all the contestants cry all the time.  However, it is an inspiring show most of the time, and I enjoy watching it.

One improvement the past few weeks:  I am thankful they finally started making the guys wear shirts for their weigh-ins each week.  All those man-boobs were just gross.

Back to the crying issue:  Really, Mark - quit the crying.  It has gotten ridiculous.

My big complaint, though, is how they drag out the weigh-ins each week.  This week there are only FIVE contestants.  However, they had THREE commercial breaks while weighing those five contestants.  They drag it out for like thirty freaking minutes.   They have the person step on the scale and then they show each person’s face, one by one, as they look at the scale (while NOT showing the scale) and then break to a commercial.  When they come back from commercial, they replay the last 30 seconds or so from before the commercial.  They D-R-A-G it out unmercifully.

On tonight’s show the two brothers, Jay and Mark, both fell below the yellow line.  So that meant that one of them had to be voted off.   And they both started crying uncontrollably.  “Vote for me.”  sob. sob. sob.  ”Don’t send my brother home.”  sob. sob. sob.  Oh, for heaven’s sakes.  Come on, guys!  Stop with all this blasted crying.  Then the elimination ceremony was one huge cry-fest.  They sent Jay home, and so they all boo-hooed through their goodbyes.  Lord!

One Response to “The Biggest Loser (aka The CRYING Show): Could they POSSIBLY drag out the weigh-ins any longer?”

HA! The Biggest Loser is the only show that Philip and I watch on a regular basis (at least until Grey’s Anatomy comes back). We were hoping Mark would go home, just so we wouldn’t have to watch him cry anymore. I don’t have a problem with guys showing emotion, but come on…two or three times every show for the past several weeks? It’s time to tone down the drama.
