Really folks, what does eating at McDonald’s have to do with gay rights?  Why would a McDonald’s Vice President decide to join the board of directors of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce?  McDonald’s is typically seen as a good place for children to be.  Maybe not nutritionally speaking, but certainly a place to get food that kids like - a playground where children can play.  Now, it seems, that McDonald’s is jumping into radical political issues.  Speaking for myself, I will never give a penny of my money to McDonald’s. I’m definitely NOT lovin’ it.   This is ridiculous.  Here’s part of the story:

Last month, the vice president of communications for the nation’s largest fast-food chain joined the board of directors of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), an organization dedicated to expanding the economic opportunities and advancements of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender/Transsexual (LGBT) business community.

“I’m thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce team and ready to get to work,” Richard Ellis said regarding the move in a released statement.

“I share the NGLCC’s passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward,” he added.

why do you hate gays? their just people like you and they have feelings. they can’t help it.

  2. James Says:

It’s not hate it’s really Love that a christian would speak out on any issue regarding Gay’s or Lesbian’s. All we could hope is that anyone could break into that realm with the message that is clearly printed in your bible. There is not much room for mistaking how the creator feels about such behavior. So I guess just please read a bible on that ver y subject and if you don’t know where to start please please have some one show you where these paggages can be found. Once you see the glory and grace noone need tell you anything as the Love of God will shine through to your very soul. God Bless and it is love and may be mis-understanding not hate. God does not Hate people he Hates SIN…

You know, I just have to say something. I don’t frequent this site. I actually found it by accident looking for the Biggest Loser comments.

I’m gay and I was a child once and even though my parents didn’t know my orientation at that time, they actually took me to McDonalds. Amazingly enough, I wasn’t abused by any pedophile clown and I didn’t abuse other children so I really don’t see the point.

Some of the children playing at McDonalds may grow up to be murderers, gang members or drug dealers. I consider those lifestyles to be far from my simple gay life.

    McDonald’s food is awful anyway.

TMS: Glad you shared what you just had to say. I have no idea what it has to do with my post, though. Abuse by a pedophile clown? You know as well as I do that’s not what this post is about.

The pedophile clown may have been a bit too much.
Reading your comments relating McDonald’s playgrounds to the CEO of Communications for McDonald’s

“Really folks, what does eating at McDonald’s have to do with gay rights?”

Good Question. Money spent at McDonald’s will in no way benefit runaway gay youths or adolescent suicides of gay teens any other gay issue ranging from life partner benefits to adoptions, parent’s rights unless the Corporation supports such organizations monetarily. The organization of which this gentleman has decided to join the Board of Directors will do that for us. Many business men sit on multiple Boards that do not relate to their profession. Whether he is a member of the “community” is personal.

“Why would a McDonald’s Vice President decide to join the board of directors of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce?”

You would have to ask him why. I suspect he was welcomed because of his business expertise. Perhaps he is a humanitarian.

“McDonald’s is typically seen as a good place for children to be. Maybe not nutritionally speaking, but certainly a place to get food that kids like - a playground where children can play.”

This man works for McDonald’s and the chain will be the same as it ever was. The children can still play without fear.

“Now, it seems, that McDonald’s is jumping into radical political issues”

It’s the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. What’s so radical? Where are the politics? It’s about helping people to support businesses which would provide jobs to anyone, gay or straight(normal?). What is so ridiculous? Your comments on the article are just so far from the actual content that you are expressing some type of -phobia and of course there are the children to think consider.

Maybe one of the McDonald’s with a playground is owned by a gay person…

TMS: You don’t get my point, and likely you never will. You are coming at the issue from your perspective, and I’m coming at it from my perspective. No hard feelings. We just agree to disagree.

Agreed, I was never really sure what you were trying to say. McDonald’s=Good, “radical organization”=Bad? It does amuse me that as I type this, there is a half naked man advertising http://www.realjock.com to the right of the screen.

Good luck with the diet search.
