We are now witnessing the political interpretation of the classic story “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” Barack Obama has some glaring and shocking negatives. Negatives that would have brought down anyone else in the political world - on either side of the aisle. No questions asked. And yet, the people around him - his supporters, the democrats, liberals, progressives and many in the press - are afraid to name the obvious. Instead, they dismiss the core importance of the issues that Obama’s negatives represent. They CAN’T acknowledge them. If they were to acknowledge what a completely empty shirt Barack Obama is as a potential president, they’d have to give up any hope of winning the election. And they would do anything to win this election. After eight years of verbally crucifying George Bush, they could never admit that they are unable to come up with a candidate who could do any better. And so they cling to their blind devotion and drone on about hope and change. Blind devotion is a manifestation of the inability to think for oneself. And at no time in recent history has that been more obvious. It’s pitiful.
