The rumor started when Heigl declined an award nomination because she felt that her character ws given a lousy storyline. I agree. Her storyline this past year had her giving CPR to a deer that had been hit by a vehicle. Then they have her as the beautiful doctor chasing after such a wimpy and insipid character as T.R. Knight’s George O’Malley.
I have to admit I’m not a Katherine Heigl Fan. Really good actors make you believe their characters. You don’t see the actor in a show because you’re seeing the character instead. By that measure, there are three actors in “Grey’s Anatomy” that just don’t make it - Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight and Kate Walsh. They are obviously acting on the show - and not doing a very good job of it.
The promos for her movie, “Knocked UP,” looked interesting, and so once it was out on DVD, I started watching it. After making myself keep watching it for 20 minutes, I finally gave up. She is simply not believable as an actress. In the movie she was Katherine Heigl acting like a woman who got pregnant after a one night stand. She simply wasn’t the character.
So will Katherine Heigl leave the show? I don’t care. Her departure sure couldn’t hurt the show, and if they got a really good actor with a good storyline to replace her, then that could only improve the show.

I may not like KH, but she is a very good actress & the fact that she is the most successful Greys actor, speaks volumes.
Kate Walsh is a superb actress with an acclaimed background in theatre & comedy. Alongside Sandra Oh & Chandra Wilson, she was the best actress on Greys, & it’s no surprise she got her own show.
The weakest links on Greys are ironically the supposed ‘leads’ - Ellen Pompeo, who cannot act her way out of a paper bag, playing a version of herself in everything, and Patrick Dempsey who makes a living making googly eyes at his intended victim. No wonder the supporting cast pick up the awards & acclaim !

Oh come on.! Kate Walsh does nothing but make faces at everything - trying to look cool. She and Katherine Heigl are two of the worst actors I’ve ever seen. However, they’re both gorgeoous and outspoken and sexy - and that’s all it takes for some people to assume they can act. They got where they are from their looks - not from their acting talent…especially Walsh. She got her own show which was a royal flop because people aren’t interested in watching actors trying to be cool. THAT is my opinion. Your opinion is different. However, your statements that “Kate Walsh is a superb actress” and Katherine Heigl “is a very good actress” are simply your opinion - certainly not facts.

To Sheri: I agree so much! No actress could come off as half-way believable with the stupid storylines they’ve given her. First, they have her kill her boyfriend, then she gives CPR to a wild deer, and this year she’s romancing her dead boyfriend. Really, the writers for the show need to be fired. It’s beyond ridiculous - it’s painful to watch. I take my potty breaks whenever Izzy’s on screen.
