I just glanced at my sitemeter and was astonished to see that I’d had more than a hundred hits the last little while as a result of internet searches with “Kellie Pickler Boob Job” (or some other version of the same theme) as the search words.  What is going on with Kellie Pickler, I wondered?  I’d written a post about her appearance on American Idol last March.  Why the sudden interest in her?  Since March I’ve had at least a few searches for her each day. . . but hundreds?!  Kellie was definitely in the news again.

Then a few minutes ago I turned on the TV and saw that Pickler was up for an award on the Country Music Awards.  She’s also scheduled to sing. 

Mystery solved.  I think. the Country Music Awards are being shown on ABC tonight.  I just caught a glimpse of Kellie when they showed her waiting to see who won in her category (she didn’t).  Maybe earlier she was interviewed and her breast augmentation was obvious and that inspired a lot of people to look her up on the internet

Recently there was a report of the five least sexiest women.  The list included Amy Winehouse, Brittney Spears, Madonna, Sandra Oh, and Sarah Jessica Parker.  Since “Sex and the City” is one of my all time favorite TV shows, I just don’t understand how SJP made that list.

Now there is a list of the least sexiest men.  They named eleven men.  Ben Stiller, Howard Stern, and Simon Cowell were the only ones on the list that I had ever heard of.  OK, I can see Howard Stern being on the list.  And Simon isn’t bad looking.  He’s just obnoxious which is pretty un-sexy.  Ben Stiller, though, is funny.  Ask most any woman and you’ll find that women find that men with a great sense of humor are highly sexy to women.

I could make my own list of un-sexy men.  Michael Moore would be at the top.  I just can’t imagine anyone less sexy.  Perhaps my political and ethical beliefs have something to do with that choice, but I imagine even my friends on the left would agree that there is no potential for sexy there.  And the Democratic guy that ran for president in 2004. . . the Fred Munster look-a-like. . .  what’s his name?  Yes - John Kerry.  Yikes!  Definitely un-sexy.  Okay, outside the political spectrum . . .  Tom Cruise would be near the top of the list - he’s just so . . . creepy. 

Really, though, I think most women - especially women who are past the teeny-bopper stage of life - look further than a man’s outward looks.  Personality, sense of humor, that indefinable “chemistry” one feels for someone.  A man that is totally unsexy to one woman might be incredibly sexy to another.  And THAT is a good thing!

People in this country - especially the liberal left - really puzzle me.  All the news shows are abuzz with the Michael Vick story.  And it IS a gruesome and horrifying story.  People were protesting outside the courthouse, people were strident in their belief that dogfighting (as a “sport” and as a gambling activity) is disgusting, inhumane and sick.

So where are all those protestors when the Islamic terrorists torture and behead people?  Where are all those protestors when the Islamic terrorists plant an IED that explodes and kills and maims dozens or hundreds of people.  Where are their protests when innocent men, women and children - going about their daily lives and trying to make a living are killed and injured by car bombs set to go off near a market?

Dogfighting is a despicable thing to do.  No dog deserves such treatment.  But it pales in comparison to what Islamic terrorists do every single day.  So how about some perspective and some acknowledgement of what is going on in Iraq?  I doubt it will happen.  As long as people can keep their thoughts firmly planted on issues such as a football player’s involvement in dogfighting,  outrage over adolescents slapping each other’s backsides, presidential candidates participating in a fake debate, movie stars arrested for drunk driving, and drunk astronauts, they can continue to pretend that our sons and daughters aren’t really sweltering in full combat gear in 100+ temperatures in a war against evil incarnate.  That every single day they face the possibility of much worse than any of the dogs at Michael Vick’s place ever faced.

I’m a teacher which means I’m not home when “The View” in on, and I don’t like it enough to TiVo it.  However, this morning I just happen to be home, and “The View” just happens to be on - and it’s a pretty good talk show.  It doesn’t seem that Rosie is missed too much.  I have to say, though, that Kathy Griffin is NOT a good addition to the show.  Her humor is too contrived.

It has to be.  She seems like a really nice person, and she looks fantastic to be 50 years old.  However, she HAS to be just about the most bland and ho-hum person I’ve ever seen on DWTS.  Even her comments during the Samantha after-dance interview make me want to yawn.  Buh-bye, Leeza.

Thank goodness!  Out of all the men who proclaimed that were possibly the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby,  the only one who was even halfway respectable ended up being the father.  At least with Larry Birkhead, I believe Dannielynn will be with someone who has HER best interests at heart.

Anna Nicole Smith’s Former Boyfriend Wins Paternity Battle

NASSAU (April 10) - DNA tests show Anna Nicole Smith ’s former boyfriend Larry Birkhead is the father of her baby, and he emerged from a court hearing Tuesday to proclaim that his daughter would soon be home.

Birkhead jubilantly announced the DNA results after the closed hearing, and then hugged his rival, Howard K. Stern. The reality TV star’s lawyer-turned-companion has been caring for baby Dannielynn since Smith’s sudden death in February.

Stern said he would not fight for custody.

“I’m obviously very disappointed but my feelings toward Dannielynn have not changed,” Stern said, adding Birkhead can come to his Bahamas home to visit Dannielynn at any time.

A joyous Birkhead said, “My baby’s going to be coming home pretty soon.”

Even Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, who had also sought custody, seemed appeased by the DNA results. “I’m happy that Dannielynn will know who her real father is,” she said outside court.

An expert in genetic evidence said DNA analysis proved Birkhead is Dannielynn’s father. Dr. Michael Baird, who analyzed the results of a March 21 DNA test, announced the results outside court. “Essentially, he’s the biological father,” Baird said.

Birkhead, a Los Angeles photographer, began seeking custody before Smith collapsed and died in a Florida hotel Feb. 8.

I was really surprised that Antonella Barba was sent home from American Idol last night.  She seems like a nice enough young woman.  However, her voice just wasn’t strong.  It was wavery and weak.  Despite her lack of a strong singing voice, though, I truly expected her to stay around for another week or two because of the notoriety she gained from the porn photos that were reported to be her.   I saw the pictures, and I hope they’re not of her.  But if they’re not of her, they ARE of some other young woman, and it is sad that a young woman - Antonella or not - was being sexually exploited in such a way.

This story gets weirder and weirder.  According to O.J. Simpson, he may have impregnated Anna Nicole Smith.  I guess he just hasn’t gotten enough publicity lately, and since Anna Nicole is dead and can’t dispute it, he may as well jump into the ring, too. 

The former American footballer has allegedly told documentary film maker Norman Pardo that he was ‘throwing his hat into the ring’ in the ongoing custody battle.

Pardo told the New York Post: ‘He (OJ) said he knew Anna Nicole pretty well, and he said he had slow-moving sperm, and he might be the father.’

SLOW-MOVING SPERM?  I guess he characterizes his sperm as slow-moving since a long period of time had passed since he allegedly had sex with ANS.  Or maybe that is his way of explaining how s-l-o-w-m-o-v-i-n-g he was in recognizing the opportunity to gain a little publicity and maybe even money via Anna Nicole’s untimely death.

Pardo also claims O J said: ‘I hope they don’t do a DNA test on Anna Nicole’s baby. If they find out Dannielynn is mine, I don’t want Fred Goldman trying to seize her money - or the baby herself.’

Now isn’t THAT the epitomy of absolute lack of class?  He’s like that other sleaze-ball (one of the Gabor sisters’ husband) who piped up about possibly fathering Dannielyn.

Simpson starred with the Playboy model in ‘Naked Gun 331/3: The Final Insult’ in 1994 and Pardo filmed with him from 2000 to 2005.

You know, I just wonder how Simpson found time to be with Anna Nicole Smith - when he was supposedly spending all his time looking for the murderer of his wife, Nicole - searching all those golf courses and bars - when DID he find time for ANS?

Did anyone else think that Kellie Pickler’s new haircut (and boob job?) made her look practically middle-aged when she sang at last night’s American Idol show?  She’s such a pretty young woman, but she looked awful last night.  The photograph above actually looks better than she did. 

According to this story, Katherin Heigl, may not return to Grey’s Anatomy. To me, her character is the least believable character on the show. Really - would it be possible to have a more unrealistic character? Plus, her whole attitude seems rather petulant.

Katherine Heigl has dropped out of contract talks with Grey’s Anatomy over salary, a well-placed source tells PEOPLE.

“Katie is disappointed and hurt that (producer) Touchstone doesn’t value her as much as her other costars, especially Sandra Oh and Isaiah Washington,” the source says.

Heigl plays Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens on the ABC hit medical drama.

A rep for ABC Touchstone TV had no comment.

I sure won’t cry if she leaves the show. She seems to have an overblown sense of self-importance.
