Personalize thank you note cards with photo covers

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

A couple weeks ago I ordered personalized note cards for myself, along with some to give as gifts. I love personalized things. Always have. I came across a website that offers personalized Photo Cards that can be made for any holiday or occasion. My first thought was to use them to announce our new home and address to our family and friends. If you’ve read this blog in the past year or so, you know that RT and I moved into our new home this past fall. And now our daughter, son-in-law and two grandgirls are moving into their new home in less than two weeks.

Wouldn’t it be cute to take a picture of the two grandgirls, their dog, Bogie, and their cat, Bella, in front of the new home, and have sephia cards made? Here’s an example of a sepia card:

Cards Direct

You see how it makes it look very homey and soft? They could totally personalize the inside of the card with a note about their new home and give their new address and phone number.

For me, I like to keep note cards to send as thank you notes. I think a wildlife photo from around our new house would make a beautiful and personalized cover for thank you notes. The inside would just be RT’s and my name with most of the space open to write a personal note.

Crocs - dangerous?

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

As the owner of three (yes THREE) pairs of Crocs, this story caught my eye.
The safety of Crocs shoes is being questioned.

Are Crocs dangerous?

Japan questions Crocs’ safety
by Zac Bissonnette

After losing about 40% of its value last week, Crocs (NASDAQ: CROX) has another headache.

The Wall Street Journal reports (subscription required) that “Japan has asked the maker of Crocs to look into changing the design of its footwear after complaints that children wearing the colorful plastic clogs have had their feet injured on escalators.”

The company has faced similar accusations in the United States and Crocs is reportedly working with the Elevator/Escalator Safety Foundation (I can’t believe that even exists) on public education initiatives.

What does all this mean for Crocs? Probably not much beyond the company’s already dismal financial results, although the posters warning about the dangers of Crocs near escalators in Japan probably won’t do much to spur sales.

Crocs’ dramatic fall from grace has been an interesting story to watch, and the company just doesn’t seem to be able to catch a break.

The safety concerns are not disclosed as risk factors in Crocs’ latest 10-K, indicating that the company’s management may not see them as a material threat to sales.

Truthfully, I don’t particularly like Crocs. They irritate my feet unless I wear socks with them. And it looks a little silly to wear socks with Crocs. However, they are so convenient. Similar to the convenience of flip-flops but without that annoying band between the toes. So, I wear them on occasion.

Crocs are a fad, though, and like all fads, they will fade. Something else will arrive on the scene to take their place. They might remain as a type of gardening, all-weather shoe. However, they DO look cloddish, and something so silly looking can’t be popular for long.

Borba Lip Treatments

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

Borba seems to be THE hottest thing in skin care products lately.  I keep hearing about it.  It is obvious that the Borba line of skin care products is growing quickly because it doesn’t just cover up skin care problems, it truly works to promote healthy skin.  I’m really picky about the lip treatments I use.  I tend to find a product I like and stick with it for years.  Seriously.  Besides everyday lipstick, I use a lip treatment at night because my lips get dry at night, and the lip treatment keeps them soft and moisurized.  Because of that, it has been many years since I experienced the pain and discomfort of chapped lips.  For women like me who take their lip treatments seriously, Borba has Lip Kix which has apricot kernel oil, coconut oil and vitamin E which provide a triple-layer of soothing softening.   Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

Borba has a special promotion for April going on. If you spend $100, you get a cool gift. Check it out here. Borba also has a blog where you can read all about skin care options.

Borba should be the first place you look when you want the best in skin care products.  They’ve got it all.  Their products are affordable, are the highest quality, and there was no animal testing involved in their developments.  Best of all is their philosophy about dealing with skin beauty from not only the outside but the inside as well.  Check out their website.  There’s nothing more convenient.  Just go online and place your order.  They have a convenient auto shipping program that allows you to keep your favorite products on hand.  Just sign up for auto shipping and you’ll automatically receive you choice of products whenever you need them.  There’s no obligation.  So there’s no risk in trying it out.

Motorcycle riders’ leather gear from The Bazaar Online

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Our little Tennessee town is quaint and historic and located next to the Natchez Trace.  Because of its location, motorcycle riders use our town frequently as a rest stop during their trips along the Trace.  Whenever we drive through downtown - which is all of one block long with a country meat and three on one side, a grocery/grill on the other, and various antique shops on either side of each - we usually see lots of riders stopped for a country food break.  We look at the women’s and the men’s motorcycle jackets and other leather riding gear, and give each item our own unique critique.  Motorcyclists definitely have style.

If those riders are looking for a leather supplier online, they should check out The Bazaar Online which has all they could possibly need in finest full grain motorcycle apparel.  I love shopping online, and The Bazaar Online had online tracking, same day order processing (for orders received before noon), and they guarantee 100% customer satisfaction along with the lowest pricing available anywhere.  Check it out for motorcycle jackets, leather coats, mens and womens chaps and pants, mens and womens vests, gloves . . . and the list goes on and on.

Friday, March 21st, 2008

I’m a sucker for beautiful jewelry, and Tateossian.com has some gorgeous jewelry. They have beautiful and innovative jewelry for both women and men.  I was checking out their website and came across some really wonderful modern cufflinks.  They have globe cufflinks and knot cufflinks and even skull cufflinks.  For women, I saw a beautiful necklace that combines a heart with an “eternity” circle pendant.  Breathtaking!  Tateossian’s jewelry is of the highest quality, and it sets the tone for men’s fashion - and women’s, too.  Tateossian jewelry has seasonal collections for both men and women that have a distinctive signature.  The designs are contemporary but unique.  They use innovative materials and mix them up and pair them in unique combinations.   Check it out.

Filling the gap in the men’s skin care market

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

There’s a gap in the men’s skin care market.  Most men’s skin care products are either extensions of cologne lines or they’re part of a shaving line.  There’s good news, though.  Anthony Logistics For Men is filling that gap.  Visit the Anthony site and find out about their great men’s products - skin care, hair care, body essentials, anti acne, anti aging and shaving products.  Most men don’t want to scout the cosmetics aisles in stores to select the skin care products that might - or might not - be what they need.  Now they can go online at Anthony.com and find all the skin care products they need, order them online and have them delivered right to their home.

Here’s an idea: If you’re a woman looking for a gift for the guy in your life, you can find kits at the Anthony Logistics For Men website.  They’d make great gifts.

And, to top it off, a percentage of Anthony For Men proceeds is donated to charities in support of the fight against prostate cancer.

Seiko Watches at Bluedial.com

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

I typically wear a simple watch like the one on the left - black leather band and an easy-to-read dial.  I think it’s perfect for everyday because it goes with anything.  It looks dressier if you dress up, and it looks casual when you wear your jeans and t-shirt.  No matter what you wear, though, it looks feminine.  It’s a classic.  However, I’m hoping that for Mother’s Day or for my birthday this summer (hint!  hint!) I’ll get one of the dressier Seiko Watches.  What do you think of this one on the right? I think it would be a good dress up watch for me.  My personal preference is gold-tone jewelry.  My daughter-in-law prefers more silver-tone jewelry, and Bluedial.com has selections for everyone.

HUE Sleepwear and More

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Have you seen HUE pajamas in department stores lately?  Check out the HUE website.  They’ve got some really cute stuff.  However, it’s not just “cute.”  They really have some trendy and comfortable pajamas, tights, and leggings.  They’re the largest and fastest growing legwear brand sold in department stores.  HUE introduced intimate apparel in 2003, and now it is the fastest growing contemporary brand in sleepwear and panties. I’m a sleepwear junkie in some ways. I love comfortable but pretty pajamas, and I’m always on the lookout for new ones. With HUE I’ve found a great source for the best in sleepwear.

HUE transcends age with its fun, fresh and fashionable line of apparel that appeals to a broad range of women.   At the HUE website, you can find socks, handbags, accessories, eyewear, knee-hi’s, sleepwear, active wear and much more.  Also look for the HUE brand at your favorite department store.
