I wouldn’t say I’m really sick. Just a scratchy throat, congestion and a mild headache. No fever – so I’m assuming it is likely just a reaction to seasonal fall allergies. I’m mentally going over what I have to do at school tomorrow to determine if I should stay home and give my throat another day to get back to normal. I’ve pushed myself in the past and lived to regret it. But I hate to miss school for no good reason.
I’m scheduled to teach independent reading workshop sessions in both a second grade and a third grade classroom tomorrow – plus my six small reading groups. On Tuesday I’ll be teaching in three classrooms – a 3rd, a 4th and and a 5th grade classroom – plus my six small reading groups. I would rather miss Monday and be able to attend school the rest of the week than to go on Monday and get worse and have to miss Tuesday and Wednesday. Who knows? It’s just a guess either way. In the past, I’ve generally gotten worse before I’ve gotten better. I’ve drunk probably a quart of orange juice since last night. It feels good to my throat.
I think I will probably go ahead and stay home tomorrow in the hopes that by Tuesday I’ll feel good again. Decisions . . . decisions . . .

Thanks, Debi. I’ll be feeling fine in a day or two. This is nothing major. The grandgirls ARE funny. I’m so lucky to teach at their school and get to see them so often.
