Cooking is one of my hobbies. I enjoy trying out new recipes and preparing meals for family and friends. I’ve posted some of my favorite recipes. Here are thirteen of them.
1. Rice Bowls (Freeze for quick meals later)
2. Hoppin’ John (So easy - so good)
3. Easy (and MOIST) Coconut Cake (double the frosting, though, to have enough to cover the cake)
4. Pesto Dip (Fancy for entertaining)
6. Ricky and Lyn’s Sweet and Sour Chicken (Great to freeze for quick meal later)
8. Chicken Noodle Soup (The ultimate comfort food)
9. Corn Salad (This is so good I plan to make it for Thanksgiving)
10. Chicken and Dumplings (My favorite!)
11. Chicken Enchiladas (Absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!)
12. Blueberry-Orange Jam (great on bagels)
13. Orange-Feta-Walnut-Field Greens Salad (Light, elegant, EXTREMELY easy and delicious)

Yum!
I have a melon-st agur-walnut-spinach salad with a balsamic vinaigrette that is lovely. I don’t think I have ever seen white corn for sale here!

Kind of related to this (well, it involves a recipe)…this weekend Philip and I fixed your apple pie recipe from the big family cookbook, and it turned out wonderfully! We used granny smith, gala, and golden delicious apples, and it was a great mixture of flavors.

I’m back on line finally! Who knows how long it will take me to catch up on all my favorite blogs and email; but I hope to get back to my blog soon too. I haven’t tried quite all of these recipes yet, but I happen to know from experience that 4 or 5 of them are wonderful!

Some good stuff there! A lady at a church we used to attend in another state often brought chicken and dumplings to potlucks — I so loved it, but I never got her recipe. I’ll have to try this.

What is “hoppin’John”? I like the name of it.
November 19th, 2006 (2 weeks ago) at 7:04 pm
I like the name of it, too, tracifish! It’s black-eyed peas with tomatoes and pepper and sausage and rice. It is quite delicious! Most importantly - it is EASY!
