Barrack Hussein ObamaI think the whole flap over Obama’s middle name is funny.  Instead of a JFK or FDR, if Obama is elected, all we’ll get is BO.

Phil Valentine is a nationally syndicated radio talk-show host.  He also writes a regular column for The Tennessean, Nashville’s major newspaper.  I usually listen to a little of Phil’s talk show on my way home from work each day - depending on if the grandgirls are riding with me.  If they’re with me, I keep the radio off so I can talk with them.  In today’s newspaper column, Phil discusses the real concerns with a possible Obama presidency.  Here are an excerpt.  Click on the title to read the entire column:

Obama’s views, not his middle name, should concern voters

Phil ValentineRather than sniping about his lineage, conservatives should be challenging Obama on his radically liberal views. He wants the government to create 5 million “green-collar” jobs to develop more environmentally friendly energy sources. The government should not be in the business of creating jobs. That’s the role of the private sector.Obama has sponsored a bill that would spend $845 billion of your hard-earned tax dollars to fight “global poverty.” The primary cause of global poverty is politics. Throwing more money at poverty is not going to make it go away. Impoverished countries generally have ailments relating to corruption and lack of freedom for their people. The same folks who don’t want us to be the policeman of the world somehow think it’s OK for us to be the world’s sugar daddy.

Obama has touted his own version of universal health care. With many on the left, it has become a God-given right. Mark my word: Universal health care will soon turn into “universal clothing” and “universal food.” Why not? If health care has become a right, then certainly food and clothing should be, too.

Obama is charting a course that we simply cannot afford. If he gets his way, taxpayers will be saddled with trillions of dollars in new spending, which means trillions of dollars in new taxes. That price tag goes up almost daily as Obama promises more and more to more and more people in order to secure the Democrat nomination.

That’s what should be getting the focus of those concerned about the trajectory of this nation. The name conservatives should be concentrating on is not “Hussein.” It’s “socialist.”
